Turner Broadcasting Orders Pilot of Show Based on David Michôd’s “Animal Kingdom”

Turner Broadcasting unveiled it’s 2015-2016 TV schedules today and according to Variety has ordered a pilot for a series based on Animal Kingdom with a slight twist:

“TNT has ordered two pilots. “Animal Kingdom,” from John Wells and writer Jonathan Lisco, is a crime drama set in a surf community. The project is based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name. It was previously developed in 2012 at Showtime. Wells, Lisco, Andrew Stearn, David Michod and Liz Watts are exec producers.

Exciting that David and Liz will be involved.  Will be very interesting to see how a hardcore Melbourne crime family translates into a crime drama set in a surf community.  Hope we get to see it here in Oz.  More to follow.
