Remember when we posted the Sydney Morning Herald article that alluded to an under wraps script for Warner Bros? Well I came across an old Joel Edgerton interview today from June 2013 in The Monthly by Luke Davis (who coincidentally in the scriptwriter for Life the film Joel is in with Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan) that states:
“With David Michôd he has written King, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Parts I & II, and Henry V, for Warner Bros. The tale of a leader tricked, by means of false intelligence, into invading a foreign country has modern resonances. Day to day on film sets there may be a lot of waiting around, but there’s not much of it between projects in Edgerton’s life just now.”
Hmmm I hope this is something that Warner Bros goes ahead with. There’s nothing listed in IMDbPro, but as we know that can change at the drop of a hat either way.
Update 15 January 2015
News.com.au interviewed Joel Edgerton about his directorial debut and ended the post off with:
“He is also working with Animal Kingdom director David Michod on a film of Shakespeare’s Henry plays, which they hope to start filming later this year.”
Oh, this is freaking awesome!
It really is @ARRivera. Thanks for your comments too 🙂
I’m half way through a Joel interview podcast. He is an interesting chap. David had some quality human beings around him. That is always a good sign. Fingers crossed for green lights
He really does @messy2.
